Questions?
Everything you need to know about moving, claiming ground, and finding your rhythm with Tam.
What is Tam?expand_more
Tam turns walks, runs, and bike rides into territory you can claim, expand, and defend.
How do I capture territory?expand_more
Record a real activity and complete a valid loop. The area inside the loop can become yours.
Can someone steal my territory?expand_more
Yes. Another valid activity can capture territory when it covers enough of the existing area.
What happens if I walk through territory I already own?expand_more
It can help you expand or reinforce your area, but it does not create duplicate territory.
Do short walks count?expand_more
Yes. Activities under 200m are still saved and contribute to your activity history, distance, steps, streaks, and progress. They are labelled Too short and are not sent through territory validation or awarded territory credit.
Does Tam need my location all the time?expand_more
No. Location is used for recording activities. You control the permission and can disable it when you are not recording.
Does Tam track my steps?expand_more
Tam can use motion and fitness permissions to calculate steps and movement metrics where supported by your device.
Will Tam drain my battery or data?expand_more
Tam is designed to limit background work and collect route data efficiently. GPS recording naturally uses more battery than ordinary app use.
Can I hide my route when sharing?expand_more
Yes. Share settings let you control route details and the metrics shown in your activity export.
Are my photos uploaded?expand_more
Selected photos remain managed by your device unless you explicitly create or share an export. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.
What is Zombie Mode?expand_more
Zombie Mode is a motivational mode that encourages steady movement during a recording. It does not stop the activity if you are caught.
Can I use Tam with friends?expand_more
Yes. You can connect with friends, use accountability features, join challenges, and compare progress.
Can I import workouts from Apple Health or Health Connect?expand_more
Yes. After connecting the health service in Settings, Tam shows recent completed workouts for you to review and import. Tam can read route, distance, duration, steps, pulse, and supported elevation data when the source provides them.
Can an imported workout claim territory?expand_more
Only workouts recorded after you connect Tam, plus the limited 24-hour onboarding window, are eligible for territory credit. Older workouts can still be imported for your activity history and metrics.
What are personal records?expand_more
Tam looks for your fastest continuous 1K, 5K, 10K, 20K, and half-marathon efforts inside valid activities. A longer activity can contain several personal records.
What happens when I join a challenge?expand_more
Challenges count only after you join them. This keeps challenge progress focused on participating members and avoids processing every user for every challenge.
What are clubs?expand_more
Clubs are groups for local competition and shared goals. Join a club to compare progress, take part in club challenges, and build momentum with people around you.
Can I delete my account?expand_more
Yes. Deletion begins with a 30-day recovery period. Signing in during that period restores the account.
Is Tam free?expand_more
Tam is free to download and use at launch. Any optional paid features will be described clearly before purchase.
Does Tam work on iPhone and Android?expand_more
Tam is available for iPhone and Android. Some metrics and permissions can vary by device and operating system.
