What we collect

When you use Tam, we may collect account details such as your email address, display name, profile image, authentication provider, and account settings.

When you record or import an activity, Tam processes location points, timestamps, distance, duration, pace, steps, heart-rate or pulse summaries, elevation, cadence, activity type, route geometry, territory results, validation status, personal records, and related achievements. This information is used to calculate your activity and territory results.

If you connect Apple Health or Health Connect, Tam reads only the health records you approve, such as completed workouts, routes, distance, steps, pulse, and supported elevation data. Tam does not write workouts back to those services.

If you enable Zombie Mode, Tam stores that the activity used Zombie Mode and whether you were caught. This lets you review your history and lets Tam show the feature in activity and sharing views.

Photos, videos, and overlays

When you choose a photo or video for sharing, iOS or Android provides Tam access to the selected media. Tam uses the selected media to create the export you request. The original photo remains managed by your device’s photo library and is not intentionally copied into Tam storage simply because you selected it.

Exported media may contain the activity information you choose to show, such as distance, time, pace, steps, territory, or Zombie Mode. You control which supported fields are visible before exporting.

How we use information

We use information to operate and improve Tam, authenticate accounts, record activities, calculate territory claims and expansions, detect invalid activity data, maintain leaderboards, show social posts, deliver accountability and territory notifications, maintain streaks and badges, and respond to support requests.

We do not use a route to publish your exact private map location in a share export. Replay and share views are designed to show the path while protecting the underlying map details.

Sharing and visibility

Depending on your settings and the activity view you choose, activity summaries may be visible in Home, Club, or Social feeds. You can choose whether an activity is shared, hide route details, or mute it from supported feeds. Other users may see the information included in a published activity card.

We may share information with service providers that help us host the app, deliver authentication, send notifications, process maps, or operate the service. We do not sell personal information.

Location, health, motion, and notifications

Location is used while recording to measure your route and calculate territory. Motion and fitness permissions help Tam count movement and steps where your device supports them. You can refuse or later disable either permission; recording may then have reduced or missing metrics.

Health integrations are optional. Imported workouts are checked for duplicates and possible matches with Tam activities. Only workouts recorded after connection, or within the limited 24-hour onboarding window, can receive territory credit. Activities under 200m may still be saved for your history and metrics, but are not sent through territory validation.

Push notifications require your permission. If enabled, Tam stores a device push token so it can deliver relevant notifications. Tokens may be refreshed or removed when a device or provider invalidates them.

Retention and deletion

You can request account deletion from Settings. Your account is hidden during a 30-day recovery period. If you sign in during that period, deletion is cancelled. If you do not return, the account is scheduled for permanent deletion, subject to records we must retain for security, fraud prevention, legal, or operational reasons.

You may also request an export of your Tam data through the app where that feature is available.

Security and children

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Tam is not intended for children who cannot lawfully consent to its use in their country.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Tam develops. We will update the date above when we make changes. For privacy questions or requests, use the support channel provided in the app or the contact details published with your current Tam release.
