How pace and speed are calculated
Understand average pace, moving pace, and peak speed.
Elapsed pace divides distance by the full duration. Moving pace uses credited moving time. Short GPS jumps can create an unrealistic peak speed even when the final distance is reasonable.
What to do
- Use moving pace for effort comparisons.
- Treat isolated peak speeds as suspect when GPS accuracy is poor.
- Send support the activity ID if repeated values are impossible.
